What do people think
about Toyota Prius ?
Price paid: f.49000 (some US$ 19000) Roughly the same pricerange as Toyota Avensis 1.8 Huge price-cut round 35% because of tax-cut and environmental subsidies. One tiny newspaper article grabbed me. After a short testdrive I was crazy about that Japanese hybrid. Until recently cars didn't do me that much. Surfing the internet groping for technical information...

Watford Special Constables go ???green??™ with Toyota Prius

Hertfordshire Special Constabulary has taken delivery of a new Toyota Prius T3, which has been donated by Andrew Rowley Toyota in Watford and will be used primarily to carry out daily ???‚¬??nuisance patrols???‚¬?„? to help combat anti-social behaviour.

The Prius is the first hybrid to be introduced to the Hertfordshire Police fleet and the Constabulary is delighted to be forging a ???‚¬??green???‚¬?„? path within the community through the car???‚¬?„?s deployment with the Specials team. Specials County Commandant Peter Mould and Special Constable Andy Kowalski received the keys to the car from Andrew Rowley.

Andrew has been successfully operating the Toyota franchise in St Albans for three years and opened a purpose-built modern dealership in Watford earlier this year. He commented: ???‚¬?“We???‚¬?„?re delighted to be handing over this car to the Special Constabulary. As a fledgling business in Watford, we are pleased to show our support for the local community by offering a tangible resource. I have no doubt the Prius will live up to the demands placed on it.???‚¬

Peter Mould said in response: ???‚¬?“I???‚¬?„?m extremely grateful to Andrew Rowley for providing this vehicle and thereby enabling our 50 special constables to significantly extend their scope of duties. This magnificent community-spirited gesture will assist my officers considerably in their efforts to improve the quality of life for those who live and work in the Watford district.???‚¬

He added: ???‚¬?“Hertfordshire has some of the most committed and enthusiastic Specials in the country; the 220 officers in Hertfordshire performed nearly 75,000 duty hours last year and made hundreds of arrests for a variety of offences.???‚¬
